Customer Plant Selection Review - RS - September 5, 2019

We are using this post to provide prospects and customers a means to view plants we are recommending or selecting.

Front Center Tree Plant Bed

Soil Amendment: Mushroom compost to be used in planting holes

Mulch: Pine straw

Border: Continue with natural border established

Note: Quantity not known for all plants until able to survey and remeasure the area. And, still may change at installation due to existing tree roots.

Evergreen

Blooms: Pink Fringes - Heaviest in Spring; Repeating Throughout the Year.

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 1 to 2'   Mature Spread: 4 to 5'

(3) Kaleidoscope Abelia - Abelia x grandiflora 'Kaleidoscope'
Area facing street, alternating with Purple Pixie Loropetalum

Evergreen

Foliage: Bright, Golden Yellow Variegation on Medium Green leaves along with Brilliant Red Stems

Blooms: Fragrant White Flowers - Spring through Autumn

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 2.5 to 2.5'   Mature Spread: 3 to 3.5'

(4) Japanese Holly Fern - 
Cyrtomium falcatum 'Rochfordianum'
Area facing home, scattered with Hostas and Lenten Roses

Evergreen (in mild climates)

Blooms: None

Sunlight: Full Shade to Partial Shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/Well-drained

Mature Height: 2'   Mature Spread: 3'


(3) Hosta - Various Species
Area facing home, scattered with Japanese Ferns and Lenten Roses

Note: Great as a filler in beds and as an understory plant for specimen trees.

Herbaceous Perennial

Blooms: Tubular whitish blooms above the plant at varying heights. Prized for foliage which is  usually of green, yellow and/or blue tones - many species are variegated.

Sunlight: Mostly shade to part sun, while some species thrive in full sun.

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: .5 to 3'   Mature Spread: Up to 8'


(3) White Spotted Lady Lenten Rose - Helleborus orientalis - Various Species

These are actually not roses, but are named such because of their blooms and there are many varieties.

Perennial, Evergreen

Blooms: Late Winter to Early Spring

Sunlight: Full Shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 20" Mature Spread: 12"


(3) Coral Bells - Heuchera - Various Species
Area facing home, scattered with Japanese Ferns and Hostas

These wonderful plants used to come in a few drab colors, with small and insignificant blooms. Now they come in a whole rainbow of colors, with some varieties grown specifically for their masses of flowers.

Perennial

Blooms: White flowers on dark stems throughout the season - late Spring to Summer

Sunlight: Full Shade (Other species also thrive in Part and Full Sun.)

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained.

Mature Height: Roughly 10 to 18"   Mature Spread: 8 to 12"
