Some of you may remember my article, 13 is a Lucky Number, where I had pruned this combination (shown left) of 13 monstrous tea olives and hollies after the property owner had reason to get behind them following a visit by a utility cutting crew.
There was a lot of interior pruning which was done for various reasons.
I had mentioned re-establishing the borders, redrawing the line so-to-speak, because it did not have that strong separation mark between lawn and plants.
So, I returned later and did just that. This is not simply a matter of marking a new border with a power edger. It's more involved in order to better hold in mulch, easier future maintenance and to make the border more distinct and the bed standout. This is one part of what I call Separating the Furniture from the Floor.
The last photo is after she had her regular person (We could have done it, but this is a right-to-work state.) lay down some fresh mulch.
What a difference!
