Customer Plant Selection Review - NA - February 17, 2019

We are using this post to provide prospects and customers a means to view plants we are recommending or selecting.

Front Foundation Plant Beds

Soil Amendment: Mushroom or Similar Quality Compost to be used in Planting Holes

Mulch: Pine Straw

Weed Protection: Landscape Barrier/Weed Blocker

Border: Establish natural borders manually


(2) Ruby Chinese Fringe Flower - Lorpetalum Chinense 'Ruby'
One each, centered between existing hollies and potted plant bed. 

Evergreen

Blooms: Heaviest in spring, repeating throughout the year

Foliage: Green to Reddish Purple

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 4 to 5'   Mature Spread: 4 to 5'


(2) Kaleidoscope Abelia - Abelia x grandiflora 'Kaleidoscope' 
One each, outside and forward of Ruby Loropetalum.

Evergreen

Foliage: Bright, Golden Yellow Variegation on Medium Green leaves along with Brilliant Red Stems

Blooms: Fragrant White Flowers - Spring through Autumn

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 2.5 to 2.5'   Mature Spread: 3 to 3.5'

(2) Spreading Japanese Plum YewCephalotaxus harringtonia 'Prostrata'
One each, inside and forward of Ruby Loropetalum.

Evergreen

Blooms: None - Prized for Foliage

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 2 to 2.5'   Mature Spread: 3 to 3.5'

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 10'   Mature Spread: 6 to 8'

(2) Miniature Gardenia - Gardenia jasminoides 'Radicans'
Left and Right and Forward of Fragrant (Tea) Olive

Evergreen

Blooms: Summer

Sunlight: Partial to Full Sun

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 12 to 18"   Mature Spread: 2 to 3'


(1) Plantain Lily - Hosta
Forward of Fragrant (Tea) Olive

Note: I will select the specific species of 
hosta when picking up the other plants.

Blooms: Small Flowers on Stalks

Sunlight: Partial Sun to Shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 1 to 2'   Mature Spread: 3'
