The Moose Tennis Memo and XMoose 2019

This happened some years ago at XMoose in 2011. It's my father and he has no shame. Actually, it was kind of cool at his spry age of 82 as he celebrated Christmas and Moose Tennis together.

We had a wonderful turn-out last Saturday - the weather was perfect as it warmed and there were some interesting and competitive points and games.

Vera made it back after late notice, but fair warning. And, other than the occasional hiccup with her serve (we worked on that later), she was taking no prisoners. Except for some of those net shots she made well-announced winners of, she otherwise has some deceptive shot preparation which leaves some wondering, and flatfooted. Life was getting rough for a few, but Joni knew what to do.

Buford, who mingled with the herd a few weeks ago, is now on the roster. And, we have a few curious sorts who stopped by Saturday and they have already contacted me.

The herd is growing and getting stronger.

Now, for XMoose 2019.

It will be held Saturday, December 21 at 9:00a.m. on the usual plot of grazeland, Trenholm Park.

Christmas and Moose attire are welcome and I have a few links below with more info.

Anyone wishing to bring holiday treats and warming energy (ahem) drinks is encouraged to do so.

For those who would like to carry their joyous selves and the holiday spirit onward, I have made reservations for 12 at J.R. Cash's (formerly J. Peters) around noon. Please respond so I will be able to increase the accommodations if need be. Spouses and significant others (I don't know where this leaves Amy and Roger.) are invited and attire is whatever you wish and most likely what you wore on-court. We've already seen your worst, so adorning oneself is not going to matter much. This is by no means a full-blown dinner - I just wanted to reserve a particular spot for us to chat, chow and drink.

As always, come hell or high water, we are playing this Saturday at 9:00a.m.

The promised (free) delivery date is 12/20 and I know it's the holidays, but almost everything I've ordered recently has arrived in less than half the predicted time.
