Soil Amendment: Mushroom compost to be used in planting holes

Mulch: Pine Straw

Border: Establish natural border between mulch and lawn. Follow the existing line of the bed for the most part, removing existing liriope.

(1) Emerald Heights Distylium - Distylium 'Emerald Heights' 

Centered on center window closer to home

Evergreen

Blooms: Small reddish-maroon flowers in Winter

Foliage: Glossy dark green

Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 5'  Mature Spread: 5'

(2) Blue Cascade Distylium - Distylium 'Blue Cascade'

One each, on either side of Emerald Heights Distyliums

Evergreen

Blooms: Small reddish-maroon flowers in Winter

Foliage: Matte blue-green

Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 3 to 4'   Mature Spread: 3 to 4'

(2) Cinnamon Girl Distylium - Distylium 'Cinnamon Grirl'

Forward of above mentioned plants

Evergreen

Blooms: Deep red in the Winter

Foliage: Plum-purple to blue-green over the Winter and Spring seasons

Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 2 to 3'   Mature Spread: 3 to 4'

(4 to 5) Soft Caress Mahonia - Mahonia, 'Soft Caress'

Forward of all other plants and close to front bed border.

Blooms: Small yellow flowers in Spring and Fall

Foliage: Green to bluish-green

Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade

Water/Soil: Moist, not soggy/well-drained. Water weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Mature Height: 2 to 3'   Mature Spread: 3 to 4'

(1) Nanho Blue Butterfly Bush - Buddleja davidii var. nanhoensis ‘'Mongo’

Or, similar, if unavailable.

Slightly forward of far right corner of home, screening gutter and side of home, trained to a black metal trellis.

Foliage: Glossy green
